The Story

Books 1 & 2 of Rogues & Gentlemen

The Rogue (Book One)
Set in Cornwall, 1815. Wild, untamed and isolated, where lawlessness is rife and smuggling is a way of life.

Henrietta Morton has always felt at home in the outdoors, but even she is unprepared for what happens when a notorious pirate bursts into her village shop. Instead of turning away, she hides the fugitive from the militia.

Her reward is a lingering kiss… and a letter he leaves behind, revealing a tale of betrayal.

When Henrietta’s father promises her in marriage to a wealthy and villainous nobleman in return for the payment of his debts, she becomes desperate.

Blackmailing a pirate may be her only hope for freedom.

The Earl’s Temptation (Book Two)
Alexander Sinclair, Fourth Earl of Falmouth, is known for his indulgence in wine, women and gambling, but he leads a second life, smuggling contraband between France and Cornwall.

During one mission, the smugglers are pursued by revenue men and sail into a violent storm. Their ship is lost, and Alexander is washed ashore on the coast of France, barely alive.

Celestine Lavelle, the daughter of a noble French family forced to flee during the revolution, now works in the kitchens of a coastal brothel. She discovers the injured smuggler and saves him.

Desperate and alone, her future uncertain, Celestine finds her life changed by his arrival.

Alexander determines to help her and plans to secure her a future of safety and respectability… but the temptation to take her as his own may prove too strong to resist.
